Por Los Siglos De Los Siglos

'Por Los Siglos De Los Siglos' translates from the Spanish language as 'Eternity' or 'Forever'. It is part of a healing prayer that i learnt when i was studying shamanism whilst living in the Amazon Rainforest between 2012 and 2014.
My shaman teacher in Peru Amazon was a devout Christian and so i became one too, so the crimson red of this painting represents the blood of Jesus Christ and i have painted 'Por Los Siglos De Los Siglos' on the canvas to reaffirm my Christian Faith forever for eternity. My intention was to create a meditation resurrection painting over this prayer line as I was going through a serious process of spiritual death and rebirth at the time. This painting for me honours that essential spiritual transformation process that exists within each one of us. Spiritual practices require continual prayer and meditation.
i have always held Mark Rothko in the highest regard so i was definitely thinking of his compositions whilst making this work. I also reference Cy Twombly's dripping techniques used to convey the flow of paint within this picture.
This is an acrylic painting on canvas supplied with fitted hanging gear and it will be packaged in a crate for transportation.
