I have always loved the symbolism of a canoe and a journey of life .
' Love Many, Trust Few, Always Paddle Your Own Canoe ' has been one of my favourite sayings on Life for as long as I can remember.
It's really poignant.
The Temples in the background to represent different stages or transitions of The Hero's Journey.
Each of us has to paddle or own canoe.
Although there is space for more than one person , the canoe is waiting to leave the coastline ....
I tried to create a very dreamy , slightly surreal symbolist painting to create an otherworldly vibe , something slightly parallel to this realm.
When I was younger I travelled a lot and have had some wild experiences in canoes in Ireland, Belize and Peru to name a few. All part of my Hero's Journey and I lived to tell the tales and paint the painting ...!!
