Optimism is my 2nd painting in my series of Flowers Of Remembrance.
Remembrance has multiple meanings including to acknowledge changes in personal self-identity. To ponder and search for new meaning in life.Tulips are a recognised as a symbol of 'perfect love', often tied to Turkish and Persian folktales. Although these beautiful flowers originated in Central Asia, they went on to become extremely popular in Turkey and then in Holland too.
For me red tulips they are an excellent motif for spiritual transformation through self love and into romantic love set against an atmospheric yet vivid sky representing life.
I have always loved the work of Vincent Van Gogh and especially his landscape work so i was most definitely considering his work whilst making this painting. I also was looking at the way Francis Bacon paints grass in many of his paintings.
This is an acrylic painting on canvas supplied with fitted hanging gear and it will be packaged in a crate for transportation.
