Antarctica 2

In 2011 i traveled to the southern Patagonia in the Chilean Antartica Region and saw some blue ice glaciers. it was very profound and i loved the colours that i saw in the glaciers and the abstract shapes that defined them. Almost like kaleidoscopic melting glass prisms which had been there for possibly tens of thousands of years, if not longer, since the last ice glacial maximum in the Southern Hemisphere, of the Patagonian Ice Sheet.

I consider myself very lucky to have viewed this melting glacier of coloured ice, and i always wanted to make a series of paintings to convey this incredible experience.

Artistically i was influenced by some of Cy Twombly's genius mark-marking whilst creating this painting.

This is an acrylic painting on canvas supplied with fitted hanging gear and it will be packaged in a crate for transportation.
